Like many in the health literacy world, we’ve been curious about how artificial intelligence (AI) could support our work—especially when it comes to writing patient materials in plain language. As many who create health content are not trained in plain language, we wanted to see if a trained GPT model could offer them support. So we created our own custom AI plain language editor using ChatGPT.
