Anita Bucur is the Bilingual Program Administrator for the UAMS Center for Health Literacy. Her role includes maintaining and executing clearly written protocols for the delivery of the Center’s field testing and Spanish plain language services and contributes to the overall Center’s programmatic objectives.
Before joining the Center, Anita was the Project Coordinator for the UAMS MammoVan. In her role, she engaged with faith-based community organizations to reach underserved women (including but not limited to racial and ethnic minorities, uninsured, underinsured, and rural women) for screening mammography. She was also responsible for educating primary care physicians about guidelines and recommendations for the early detection of breast cancer and developing tools to determine actual mammography capacity in target counties.
Anita graduated from UA Little Rock with a double bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Spanish. She holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and master’s degree in Business Administration from UA Little Rock. Anita is fluent in Romanian and Spanish and proficient in French.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, and playing sports.
