Misty Paschall serves as the Research and Evaluation Associate for the UAMS Center for Health Literacy (CHL). In this role, she designs and executes collaborative research and quality improvement initiatives, manages programmatic data, and engages students in CHL programs and services. Misty also provides leadership to CHL’s consulting and training services.
Misty has held leadership roles with the Arkansas Department of Health, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), and the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM). Most recently, she served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor at the UAM College of Technology-Crossett, where she acted as the chief academic officer and faculty supervisor.
Her extensive background in leadership roles within public health and academia enhances her ability to drive impactful research and oversee quality improvements at CHL. Misty has also served as a judge for the Center for Plain Language ClearMark Awards and presents at both state and national conferences, sharing her expertise in health communication and evaluation.
Misty earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and a master’s degree in adult education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She also completed a fellowship with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in a collaborative effort with Tulane University, where she earned a master’s degree in public health. She has been a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) since 2003.
Outside of work, Misty enjoys spending time with her family and friends on the beaches of Florida.
