Anna-Kate is a seasoned health communicator with a passion for making health information easy to use and understand. As a plain language writer for the UAMS Center for Health Literacy (CHL), she creates and edits plain language health materials and supports the center’s training services at UAMS and beyond. She enjoys thinking “outside the box” and has helped develop innovative projects such as an online program to help young people understand health insurance.
Before joining CHL, Anna-Kate worked over 17 years in communications for non-profit and health care organizations, including most recently in the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute with the Arkansas Building Effective Services for the Trauma (ARBEST) program.
Anna-Kate graduated with honors from the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in French and Linguistics. After college, she received a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to study and volunteer in Strasbourg, France.
When she isn’t at work, Anna-Kate enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, reading, and riding her bike.
