UAMS CHL and UAMS Library Receive Funding to Help Patients with Online Health Information
The UAMS Center for Health Literacy and UAMS health sciences libraries received funding from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) to develop and test a new health-literate patient tool. The new tool, How to Find Out About Your Health HANDbook, will be developed using health literacy best practices and expertise from library and healthcare professionals. The HANDbook will be used to improve patient-provider communication and guide patients to reliable health information online. The project aims to reach 6,000 patients, with sustainability potential to reach tens of thousands more after the project has ended.
