Center for Health Literacy launches new plain language website www.plainpages.org
The Center for Health Literacy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is excited to introduce a new plain language website www.plainpages.org . Plainpages.org offers a new tool for bridging the gap between the level of written health information and a patient’s ability to understand and act on it – improving patient-provider experiences, improving outcomes and reducing costs. Plain Pages® addresses the need to provide readability and plain language editing services of health documents to customers who have smaller projects at affordable per page pricing.
Customers can submit health documents through www.plainpages.org for a quote. Services include the current reading level of the document, with a full readability report as well as plain language editing. Regular pricing following the introductory period will be $20 per page for assessment only; $50 per page for assessment and editing. During the month of January only, customers who submit a document that is at least 5 pages for assessment and editing will get 2 pages free ($100 value).
Plain language services are part of the UAMS Center for Health Literacy’s plain language training program which trains future health professionals on skills needed to make health information easy to understand and use.
If you would like to submit a document for a quote, please do so at www.plainpages.org.
